If New York City is the World’s Best Classroom,
The Brownstone is Homeroom
The East Village is New York City at it’s best: artistic, energetic, and inspiring, with several major universities, museums, pubs and galleries within walking distance. You simply couldn’t pick a better location for college students or young professionals to gather.
The Brownstone is a stand-alone building, segmented by floor and function, all focused on creating an experience highly conducive to bringing people closer to each other, and to their identity.
Study • The second floor is about gathering and learning. Thought provoking lectures, performances and celebrations fill the light-filled auditorium. Divided, it transforms into classrooms and workshop spaces with advanced connectivity and visual displays. Here, thousands will be encouraged to grow along professional and personal lines.
Socialize • New Yorkers dream of a roof top terrace — the Brownstone’s hosts informal gatherings, networking, and outdoor learning. The lushly landscaped terraces on the ground floor are the perfect place for BBQs, classes, and smaller gatherings. In the student lounge on the first floor, people assemble for the day’s adventure, or regroup after a night on the town.
Living • Men’s and women’s sleeping areas on two floors, each sleep 25. This is what really sets the Brownstone apart. When people live together, they share the experience on a seriously deep level.
Library • We Jews are the People of the Book. At the Brownstone, the thoroughly modern library proves the point: computers, books and media on subjects from the practical to the spiritual.
Staff • Our staff lives the program, literally. The fourth floor is all theirs, with their own bedrooms and living area. They’re often known to be the last to say goodnight when a deep conversation goes late.
Food • Where meals are served in a Jewish home, bonds are forged. The dining bar area is more than a place to eat: it’s a place to share the experience.
